Concerts

The orchestra performs regularly in public, 2 - 3 times a year.

The next scheduled concert is on Saturday 13th May 2017 at St. Mildred's Church, Bingham Road, CR0 7EB.  An exciting programme is planned to include Wilshere Concerto for Chamber Orchestra, Mozart Clarinet Concerto (Soloist Paul Riley) and Beethoven Symphony no. 5.

Our most recent concert was on Saturday 12th November, featuring guest singers from The Kentish Warblers, and guest soloists, Chrystle Martin and Melvyn Higgs in a programme of music  for voices  and ochestra spanning Bach to Sondheim.  Working with singers presented a challenge for the orchestra, which it rose to with gusto.  The audience were appreciative of a very varied programme.

Other concerts during the past year were on Saturday 12th March 2016 at St. Mildred's. and on April 18th at St. Katherine's Knockholt.
The programmes featured extracts from Tchiakovsky "Swan Lake" & "Sleeping Beauty", Borodin "Polovtsian Dances", Grainger "Shepherd's Hey" & Wilshere "Dance Suite".
Both audience and players greatly enjoyed both performances. "A lovely selection of music for dance".

On Tuesday 28th June, 8pm, the orchestra staged an Open Rehearsal, followed by refreshments. A good time was had by all!
